This Friday, April 30, will mark the fifth annual “Come Together” for No Place for Hate concert here in the Lehigh Valley. Like last year, due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19, the event will again be broadcast on line. Michael Duck (Not For Coltrane), the event’s primary organizer, has once again done an excellent job putting together a fantastic show for a great cause. This year will feature more than 20 musicians from the Lehigh Valley and beyond as well as guest speaker, Dr Jack Silva of the Bethlehem Area School District.
No Place for Hate is a 21-year old initiative of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) that supports programs to combat bullying, bias and hatred in over 1,600 schools throughout the country. “Come Together” is designed to raise funds for the Philadelphia ADL, which supports No Place for Hate programs in over 50 area school districts, including those in the Lehigh Valley. Donations can be made at https://gofundme.com/cometogether2021
For those who donate in advance, you will be sent a reminder with a link to view the webcast. In addition, those who donate before 10pm Thursday, April 29, you will be placed in a drawing to win one of many items donated by the performers and the area sponsors. Local sponsors include Godfrey Daniels, Touchstone Theater, The Southside Arts District, Southside Film Festival, Deja Brew and Ahmina Handcrafts. Winners will be randomly selected during the webcast. For information about how to enter the drawings without making a donation, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do consider donating to this worthy cause.
