As Christmas in the Quarter Enters Week 2 – Some Changes to Note

The times, they are a-changing – literally. There are some updates to pass along to you for Christmas in the Quarter moving forward. Most notably, some time changes in both the hours of operation and the live music schedule. No, we’re not cutting back on the music, just bringing it to you a little earlier on the weekends. First, the hours of operation. On Thursday and Friday, they will be opening at 5pm instead of 2pm, effective immediately. Saturday’s operating hours will remain 2pm-8pm and Sunday will see an earlier start – 11am – and finish – 5pm. There has also been a reduction in the admission price. You can now bring a family of four to the event on a $10 family package. Historic Bethlehem Museum and Sites members will be admitted free. On Saturday, in conjunction with the Cocktail Crawl, you can take in Christmas in the Quarter for a “suggested donation” of $5.

Let’s get to the music. The times on Thursday and Friday will remain the same, 6pm-8pm. You will get to see and hear the great sounds of Frank Porter both nights. On Saturday, Nick Lindsay (Audio Files) will kick things off at 2pm, followed by Michael Reisman of Acoustic Mayhem at 4pm. Sunday’s lineup has Ben Tyler starting at 1pm and Ginger & Joe (Ginger Schnappes) closing out the weekend from 3-5pm. The music tent has also found a new home, alongside the outdoor bar with Cave Brewing Company and Xplorer Spirits. This is a rain or shine event and, if the weather is not suitable for music outdoors, we’ll move inside to the second floor of the Luckenbach Mill.

As will be the case throughout the season, there is plenty to do and see at Christmas in the Quarter. You will find holiday art and putz exhibits inside and out, children’s crafts and activities, Christmas cottages for rent, pop-up shopping, holiday photo opportunities, historic building and tree lighting, the outdoor bar and food trucks. There is also a food drive throughout the month of November. You can donate canned goods and non-perishable items to benefit a local food bank and receive a 20% of coupon for shopping in the Quarter. Come join us this weekend in Bethlehem’s Historic District and help support local businesses and musicians during the holiday season as well as Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites.
