Weekly Live Music “HOT SPOTS” 11/21-11/24

We have a few more options than usual for a Thursday tonight, a very busy musician in Pentley Holmes this weekend and plenty more live music to choose from. So, take a look, pick a spot – or two or three – and get out and support live, local music this weekend.

Let’s start with a couple open mic nights tonight. First, there’s Cave Brewing Company’s open mic in the South Mall. Sign-ups start at 5:30pm and host Nick Lindsay will kick things off at 6. The open mic at Blend starts at 7pm with host Leah Fuls so, if you want to show off your talent, you have two choices and maybe even a chance to stop by both. If you’re a fan of Pentley Holmes (and who isn’t ?), you can catch him tonight at Pearly Baker’s Ale House starting at 9:30pm. Tomorrow, he’ll be at Brook Hollow Winery (5pm), Saturday at the Downtown Allentown Market (8pm) and Sunday at the New Hope Winery in the afternoon (1pm) and the Funhouse Southside at 10:30pm.

Here’s what the rest of the weekend looks like. Tonight: The Charter Arts Evening of Song at Godfrey Daniels (7pm), The Bastard Sons Presents Jason Ziegler at Two Rivers Brewing (8pm) and Dirty Mike and the Boys at the Funhouse (10:30).

Friday: Doug Kaetz at Blue Ridge Estates Vineyards, Billy Bauer at the Slopeside Pub and Billy T. at HiJinx Brewery, all at 6pm. EJ & JO will be at Colonial Pizza and Chuck Brodsky at Godfrey Daniels starting at 8. The Chris Cummings Trio will be entertaining the crowd at Two Rivers Brewing Company at 8:30pm and your late-night (10:30pm) features the Phase II November Cancer Benefit at the Funhouse.

Saturday: Doyle and the Dudes will rock the Easton Wine Project and Jordan White will be at the Beef Baron starting at 7pm. Godfrey Daniels has the Youngers taking the stage at 8pm, the Chelsea Lyn Meyer Band will be at the Leather Corner Post at 9pm and Dear Anna closes out the night at the Funhouse (10:30).

Sunday: In addition to the Pentley Holmes “double-header”, Doug Kaetz will be at Sorrenti’s Cherry Valley Vineyards at 1pm.

Of course, there’s never a bad time to get out and support live, local music. These are your weekend highlights but, Keep in mind, there are places you can go to support the local music scene during the week as well. The Funhouse has music 7 nights per week, including an open mic on Mondays. There are also regular open mic nights at Colonial Pizza (every Tuesday), Porter’s Pub (1st & 3rd Wednesday), Cave Brewing Company (select Thursdays), Easton Wine Project (one Thursday per month – next one on 12/26) and Pearly Baker’s Ale House (1st Thursday) to name a few.
