For the next 10 days, Musikfest will dominate the live music scene in the Lehigh Valley. With 11 headliners and an endless list of free shows to choose from you can’t help but find something you’ll enjoy. Many local artists will be on display throughout the week as well as regional and national acts for a complete listing of show times and locations visit https://www.musikfest.org.
If festivals aren’t your thing, there’s still places you can go to enjoy live music and, although the schedule is a bit light this weekend and next, here are a few suggestions for you. The Funhouse Southside has you covered all week long with live music every night at 10pm. You can stop by tonight at 10 and check out Banchi for a little pre-festival fun. If you want to make your own music, swing by Pearly Baker’s Ale House at 9:30pm for Carter Lansing’s monthly open mic.
Friday – Stop by one of our many great restaurants on the Southside, tell them your lunch is to go, and head on down to the Greenway for the Out to Lunch Concert Series featuring Joe Argese at noon. At 7pm Yingling-Porter on Tap will be at the promenade Shops. Colonial Pizza’s “Sparkle Party” starts at 8pm with Carter Lansing and Joey O providing the sound. She Said Sunday takes the stage at Rivals at 9pm and the Trouble City All Stars keep the night alive at the Funhouse (10pm).
Saturday – Smooth Retsina Glow is at the Pub on Main and Jordan White is at the Beef Baron at 7pm. She Said Sunday takes their show to the Shanty on 19th at 9 and Start Making Sense will be at the Funhouse at 10. Sunday at the Funhouse features the Becoming Band.
Of course, it’s also First Friday on the Southside and there is still plenty to do there tomorrow night. For all the details check our page or the Southside Arts District page on Facebook. No matter what your interests are, you’ll find music that’s the right fit for you so, get out and support local music this weekend.
