Fete de la Musique, also known as World Music Day or Make Music Day, began in France in 1982. Celebrated on June 21 each year, the event has now spread to 120 countries and over 1000 cities and towns throughout the world. People are encouraged to bring music out into the streets where it is free and open to the public. It is a unique, all-day festival and it is just around the corner.
The Valley Arts Scene, together with Grace Notes Piano, has hosted this event for several years now and will, once again, present Make Music Upper Perk on Friday, June 21. From 10am to 10pm you will find over 80 musical acts performing over 130 sets at 19 different locations throughout the Upper Perkiomen Valley. There are quite a few Lehigh Valley musicians participating in this years’ event – too many to list them all here. You can find a complete listing of all the events and locations for the day at https://valleyartscene.wordpress.com/make-music-upper-perk/ or on their Facebook page.
